The Kade-Duesenberg German House and Cultural Center is a wonderful facility that brings all German activities on campus together in one place.
Upstairs in the German House, 13 students, including a native-speaker Resident Assistant, speak German and eat meals together. Living arrangements are very comfortable. Students have suite-style rooms (sharing a bathroom with one to three others), access to the front or back balcony, and a beautiful shared space with a large dining room table, sofas around a fireplace, and a well-appointed kitchen.
Downstairs in the Cultural Center, there is space for classes, film nights, conversation hours, and the many other activities the German program sponsors on campus. Students work at the main desk as Student Building Managers or teach on Monday afternoons in our Kinder lernen Deutsch program, when elementary school children from the city come to learn German for an hour a week.
The Kade-Duesenberg German House and Cultural Center was built in the year 2000 in the style of the early 20th century Bauhaus.
