Computing and Information Sciences
The Computing and Information Sciences department at Valparaiso University offers courses to undergraduate and graduate students that help them to understand, evaluate, automate, and improve processes — skills that can be applied to almost any problem in any field.
Undergraduate and Graduate Programs
A flexible UG major curriculum, two MA programs, and three graduate certificates offer thorough training in the principles of computer science and information technology, along with a plethora of electives that allow students to apply their training to a wide variety of fields.
Non-Majors Welcome!
By removing barriers to enrollment wherever possible, the department encourages non-majors to sample its course offerings. Many challenging and valuable upper-level courses have just one or two prerequisites. In addition, students are encouraged to apply for the Early Entry option to the MA in Information Technology or Cyber Security programs.
