About the Game
Every great journey begins with a question. For the team at Valparaiso University, it was this: what if choosing a career felt less like filling out a form and more like setting out on an adventure?
Mason Tulacz ’26 took that question and ran with it. A Valpo student with one final year left on campus, he spent it building the answer: a game called Valpo FutureQuest. By the time he crossed the graduation stage in May 2026, his creation was nearly ready for the world to see. He didn’t make the journey alone. Faculty mentors Aysegul Yayimli, Ph.D. and Martin Buinicki, Ph.D. walked beside him at every turn, shaping raw ambition into something real. Fellow student Ethan Mohr ’28 composed the music that gives the game its pulse with the mentorship of Joseph Bognar, DMA.
What emerged is a place where prospective students can wander a little, wonder a lot, and slowly discover who they might become. It’s built on the science of RIASEC career exploration, but dressed in color, sound, and story, so that self-discovery feels less like a test and more like play. Valpo FutureQuest is a gentle invitation to every student still searching. You don’t have to know where you’re going yet. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply start exploring.
Discover your path. Level up your future.
