Choral concert for Ukraine

Valparaiso University is pleased to announce a benefit choral concert for Ukraine celebrating Ukraine’s rich legacy of sacred and folk music on Oct. 6, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the Chapel of the Resurrection. The concert will feature the renowned choral ensemble Cappella Romana

Founded in 1991 and based in Portland, Oregon, Cappella Romana is a professional vocal ensemble that performs early and contemporary sacred classical music in the Christian traditions of East and West. The ensemble is known for their Greek and Russian Orthodox choral work, as well as their recordings of Byzantine chanting and other sacred work in the inherited Christian tradition. The group is led by Dr. Alexander Lingas, music director and founder.

Concert-goers can help Ukrainians by donating generously through Rebuild Ukraine, a humanitarian assistance organization providing aid directly to Ukrainians afflicted by the war in many ways – including traumatized children.
