SUSPENDED

As you may have heard, Valparaiso University’s operations have been modified to keep our campus community safe and healthy and reduce the spread of COVID-19 to more vulnerable populations. As part of the preparedness plan, the Chapel is closed, effective March 25, 2020, and our Sunday morning worship services, Sunday evening Candlelight service, daily Morning Prayer, and Wednesday evening Celebrate! services will not be held at the Chapel of the Resurrection until further notice. These worship communities will continue to be served online and in other creative ways by our pastoral and student staff.

To join in on the Celebrate! worship (10 p.m. Wednesday), go to this Facebook page when they’ll be doing a Facebook Live event.

Please email prayer requests to prayer@valpo.edu.

Chapel sermons and reflections are available in various online formats. You can find audio recordings from Sunday morning, Celebrate!, Candlelight, and Morning Prayer services here. Morning Prayer reflections from Spring 2020 can be found on the Chapel YouTube page.

Our pastoral staff will continue to be available and encourage you to use their “You Can Book Me” contacts for appointments.

More about Celebrate!

Celebrate! is offered every Wednesday at 10 p.m. when classes are in session.

Celebrate! is a worship experience that combines contemporary worship and praise with Holy Communion in a creative, laid-back style. University Pastor James A. Wetzstein is the main speaker.

Celebrate! is a worship service where Valpo students and their friends are invited to Belong to a community of God’s making, Believe in what Jesus has done for them and Become the followers of Jesus that the Spirit is empowering them to be.

The Celebrate! Worship Team is an incubator for worship leaders.

Check out the Celebrate! Facebook page or listen to Sermons

Students serve as the planners of Celebrate! as well as musicians and emcee.
