2011 Fitness Class Schedule

Classes available: Pilates, YogaCardioKickboxing , BodyDetailing, Zumba, Piloxing, TKD(free to FC members), Indoor Cycling, Core Fitness(free to FC members), Step Energy(free to FC members), Belly Dancing Fitness(free to FC members), Step Interval(free to FC members), Power Yoga(free to FC members),  and Personal Training!

You can join a class at any time. All classes are first come first serve.

Purchase your fitness and personal training punch-cards at the Recreational Sports office located in the Fitness Center.  (PUNCH-CARDS ARE ONLY VALID THE SEMESTER THEY ARE PURCHASED!!)

Pilates (Location: Varies)

  • 1 punch from punch-card
  • This class is a system of mat exercises originally put together by Joe Pilates.  The mat series is designed to strengthen the musculature of the torso to include the waistling, lower and upperabdominals, obliques, and low back.  Added benefits are increased flexibility and toning of arms, chest and legs.  All levels welcome. (approx. 45 min.)

Yoga (Location: Fitness Studio in ARC)

  • 1 punch from punch-card
  • Increased flexibility, muscle endurance and relieve stress by taking part in this popular class.  Bringing your own mat to class is recommended, as there are only a limited number of mats available.  (approx. 45 min.)

Cardio Kickboxing (Location: Fitness Center)

  • 1 punch from punch-card
  • Kick and punch your way to a fitter you. Designed to introduce basic moves of kickboxing while keeping your heart rate up.  Join this high intense workout for a great calorie burn.  (approx. 45 min.)

(NEW)Body Detailing (Location: Fitness Center)

  • 1 punch from punch-card
  • This well rounded toning workout will strengthen the muscles of the upper, middle, and lower body using a variety of exercise techniques.  Bands, balls, tubing, weights, and much more are intergrated into this pumped up workout. (approx. 45 min.)

Zumba  (Location: Varies)

  • 1 punch from punch-card
  • Dance... Dance... Dance... This high energy class uses motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow to leave your worries behind.  ZUMBA is a mixture of body sculpting movements and exciting easy to follow dance steps.  Only requirement is to have FUN! All levels welcome! (approx. 45 min.)

(NEW) Piloxing (Location: Fitness Studio in the ARC)

  • 1 punch from punch-card
  • Come try the latest Hollywood fitness craze! PILOXING uniquely blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of Pilates.  It is a fat torching, muscle sculpting, core-centric interval workout, guaranteed to whip you into shape.  PILOXING is a brainchild of Swedish dancer and celebrity trainer Viveca Jensen.

Personal Training (Location: Fitness Center)

  • 1 punch from personal training punch-card or punches vary on group fitness cards
  • Work one-on-one with a personal trainer to meet your individual goals.
  • Scheduled by appointment

Indoor Cycling (Location: Fitness Studio in ARC)

  • 1 punch from punch-card
  • Experience 45 minutes on an indoor cycling adventure through hills, open roads, and races.  This class will challenge you but is welcome to all levels.  Be sure to bring your towel and water bottle!  (approx. 45 min.)

**You do not have to be a Fitness Center member to participate in fitness classes.  If you are NOT  a member, Lunch Time Fitness provides an opportunity for faulty/staff to participate.  There is NO non-member fee as a benefit for being an employee.

  

 **If you are not part of the VU community, you can purchase a standard Fitness Center Punch Card or Personal Training Punch Card.   There is a $15 non-member fee for each card.
