Family Weekend
We are so excited to welcome family & friends to campus for Family Weekend 2023 taking place Friday, November 3 – Sunday, November 5, 2023! Signature events will be hosted throughout the weekend that families can choose to attend. Please register by Sunday, October 29, at 5:00 p.m.

Family Weekend Check-In
Families will be able to check in for the weekend in the Harre Union Atrium (1509 Chapel Dr, Valparaiso IN 46383) on Friday, November 3 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 4 from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. All tickets for pre-registered events will be available at check-in.
Friday, November 3
5-8 p.m. Family Dinner in Founders Table in the Harre Union
- Registration is required for anyone not currently on a University meal plan
8 p.m. Movie Night (Encanto) sponsored by the University Programming Council
8 p.m. She Kills Monsters – University Theater (ticket information here)
Saturday, November 4
8:00 – 11:00 a.m. PhiHOP – Helge Center
- PhiHOP is a pancake breakfast hosted by Phi Delta Theta Fraternity to benefit their philanthropy, the Live Like Lou Foundation. Please head over to the Helge Center to enjoy a pancake breakfast (onsite payment).
10:00 a.m. – Noon – Physician Assistant Student Society Open House – LeBien Hall Annex B
10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Family Weekend Tailgate – West Intramural Fields
1:00 p.m. Football vs. Dayton – Brown Field (pre-sale tickets available via registration)
- From Quarter 1 through Quarter 3 at the Football Game, there will be a Silent Auction hosted by the Valparaiso University Dance Marathon to raise money for their annual event that raises money for Lurie Children’s Hospital
4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Family Weekend and Veterans’ Recognition Concert #1: VU Chamber Concert Band – Chapel of the Resurrection
6 p.m. Dinner Detective – Harre Union Ballrooms (registration required)
7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Family Weekend and Veterans’ Recognition Concert #2: VU Chamber Concert Band – Chapel of the Resurrection
Sunday, November 5
8 a.m. Valparaiso University Alumni Association Breakfast for Families – Harre Union Brown & Gold Room
- registration is required for all guests planning to attend
10 a.m. University Chapel Service – Chapel of the Resurrection
12:00 p.m. St. Baldrick’s – Harre Union, Ballroom C
- St. Baldrick’s, hosted by the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, is an annual fundraiser where we shave heads and raise money for pediatric cancer research.
2 p.m. She Kills Monsters – University Theater (ticket information here)
